Not Forbidden Fruit
The Fruit Company's beginnings date back to 1942 when Roy Webster and Murray Albertson formed a joint venture to purchase orchard land in Hood River, Oregon.
Roy Webster and his son, Wayne Webster, managed the operation in the Hood River Valley, which grew from a single 20 acre farm to approximately 600 acres of orchard, and a packing facility. Webster-grown pears and apples have been shipped throughout the US and internationally ever since.
The Websters were particularly fond of Royal Comice pears, which they promoted as the best eating pear bar none. Consequently, this father and son team planted them wherever they could find room. Today, Webster Orchards is the largest producer of Royal Comice Pears in the Hood River Valley. Webster Orchards has been producing these succulent Royal Comice Pears and other tree Fruits since our beginning in 1942.
The Fruit Company is the result of an idea, conceived 57 years ago, by Roy Webster, promoted by his son Wayne, and launched by his grandsons Scott and Addison Webster. The idea is simply to deliver the best-tasting pears in the world directly to the consumer's doorstep, ripe and ready to eat.
We hope you enjoy our Fruit and food gifts as much as we enjoy sharing them!
